In practice

From cyber risk to an informed decision

The training links cyber risks to business continuity, customer trust and governance responsibilities. We cover how to assess measures, set priorities and oversee implementation.

You don’t need to become a technical expert. The aim is for you to ask the right questions and assess risks with more confidence. Where NIS2 or the Dutch Cybersecurity Act applies, we tailor the content accordingly.

Structure

What the training covers

A core session, an annual refresher and a targeted introduction for new board or management members.

  • Governance responsibilities under NIS2 and the Dutch Cybersecurity Act.
  • Translating risks into management decisions.

The core session is tailored to your organisation and lasts four hours. Among other things, participants learn to assess a roadmap, a risk overview and an audit report. You receive the materials and a record of attendance and topics covered. A targeted introduction for new board or management members is included. It covers their role, the governance process, the main risks and key contacts. The introduction can be held in person or through guided digital material; we agree the format and timing in advance.

In concrete terms

Real questions for the board and management

Weighing cyber risks

We link disruption, data loss, fraud and supplier dependency to business impact. Participants learn what information they need to set priorities.

Oversight and targeted questions

Using sample roadmaps and audit reports, we discuss roles, approvals, exceptions and overdue actions. You learn which questions to ask your IT and security leads.

Learning and follow-up

The programme draws on your own context and current concerns. After the session, you receive the materials, a record of attendance and a summary of questions and agreed follow-up actions.

Beforehand, we discuss the participants, their prior knowledge and the relevant risks. The annual refresher builds on the core training and covers new questions and lessons learned from incidents.
